Ted's pick... 2016 Cercius Blanc 92JD is crisp and vibrant and irresistible at $11+
"Spring is starting to blossom here in NY with Cherry trees in full bloom.

Here's another NEW delicious French white you must try

Cercius

2016 Cercius Blanc is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache Blanc that has a wonderful presence on the palate and a crispy finish. Fermented in concrete tanks and aged for a few months before release.

Cercius is the Latin name for the winds that originate in the mountainous Massif Central to the northwest of the Costières de Nîmes in Southeast France. Combined with the thermal breezes from the Mediterranean, the Cercius moderates the terroirs where Michel Gassier farms his white grape varieties.

92 points - Jeb Dunnuck
"Coming from a joint project between Michel Gassier, Philippe Cambie and Eric Solomon, the 2016 Cercius White is terrific, with hints of peach, citrus blossom, flowers, and Meyer lemon all emerging from the glass. Medium-bodied, fresh and lively, with both richness and freshness, it's high class all the way and is more than worth its going rate. The blend is 70% Grenache Blanc and 30% Sauvignon, aged all in tank."

Ted's pick... Stunning Value Barbera D'Asti 2016 Gianfranco $10+
"Piedmont, Italy has the BEST value reds!

A lot of them are in the $15-25 per bottle range and for the $$ they are Home Runs for the dry Red Wine drinker.

Dolcetto’s, Barbera’s, Freisa’s, Nebbiolo’s, Pelaverga’s… so many great wines…

Here’s a Stunning Barbera Value!

2016 Barbera d’Asti, Gianfranco, Piedmont, Italy

Rare to find Barbera D’Asti for $10+!!!

Dense dark red color with violet shadows. Intense and exuberant fruitiness with notes of black cherries, currants and violets. This is full of fresh, pure primary fruit aromas due to the use of steel tanks and not oak barrels in production. Soft and rounded, yet with an easy going acidity and supple fruit.

Harmonic and palate cleansing.

Gianfranco is a small producer of excellent quality wines.

In Asti, Barbera get's the royal treatment; prime vineyard locations and hands-on attention and care. This wine is a DOCG from Treiso which is reserved for the biggest, most intense wines.

For $10+ this is Outrageous.

Get this while it lasts!!!

Ted's pick... Outstanding 2014 Muga Reserva is here finally - Home Run Rioja!
"The wait can be long sometimes. Tasted in spain, I've been waiting over a year to bang the drum on how great of a Muga Rioja Reserva this 2014 is...

Everyone who loves Rioja will love this wine.

2014 is a great year in Spain and every solid 2014 has gotten great press!

This is no exception...

I give this 93 or 94 Points.

2014 Muga Rioja Reserva

A wine with medium-high depth of color -- black-cherry red with garnet hues. First, red-fruit notes appear on the nose, with hints of fennel and scrubby heathland, all nicely balanced by smokey aromas from the time spent in medium-toasted wood. Underlying hints of vanilla come through with coffee notes.

On the palate, there is a full mouth-feel with slightly mentholated nuances and white chocolate.

The vanilla reappears and the red-berry fruit aromas found on the nose persist, with an elegant acidity which makes the aftertaste super long.

This wine can be paired with veal, Iberian pork charcuterie and some types of casseroles (stew).

Blend: 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 10% Mazuelo and Graciano

Ted's pick... 2015 Bordeaux: 2015 Joanin Becot, Cotes de Castillon 92 Points by three reviewers and under $20!!! by the case...
"The last few weeks have been very busy with discussion of the 2017 Red Bordeaux vintage (which arrives in 2020…) Lots of speculating… The Euro/Dollar is making it a hard sell…

The future is now…

2015 is a GREAT Vintage.

And these wines are selling out for good reason. Fantastic prices, Fantastic wines, Fantastic to drink now…

2015 Château Joanin Bécot Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux

This wine is so lush, forward, juicy, with dark cherries, chocolate and licorice that delivers a round, fleshy, flashy, sexy wine with freshness and loads of sensuous fruit.

92 points - Wine Enthusiast - Cellar Selection - $35
"A mineral texture gives this ripe wine an edge while its full, red berry fruit offers some solid tannins and concentration. It's smoky and full-bodied and will be ready to drink from 2019.

$35 must be for the big nationwide chain stores…

I like under $20 by the case at Pop’s!!!!!!!

Ted's pick... For the Cotes-du-Rhone drinkers a Great budget friendly Vacqueyras Red
"For all my Cotes-Du-Rhone lovers, here's a great Budget Friendly Vacqueyras Red that's a 10 on the Elegance scale.

2015 Vacqueyras, Reserve de la Campriere is an estate bottled red made and bottled in Gigondas.

All the spicy Rhone funk you want from a Cotes-du-Rhone Red with a VERY affordable pricepoint!

$15+ for a Vacqueyras is rare…

A lot of Rhone reds have been tasting heavy handed and sweet and there is a big backlash in the wine world to return to a dry style that’s for the everyday crowd that wants drinkable, quaffable reds that are not 16% alcohol… this one clocks in at 14% but tastes like it’s 12.5% to me.

Cool, spicy nose. Loads of tannins, well balanced red fruit, a bit of red pepper.

Spicy, fresh and powerful without being over-made and not sweet...

A Lovely Rhone red to drink and will likely age well…

2015 is a Great Vintage in the Rhone as well.

Grab some of this beauty for Spring/Summer drinking…

Ted’s pick… 2015 Cabernet value from Plumpjack’s Adaptation Winery in Napa Coats the palate in richness…
"Adaptation by PlumpJack Napa Cabernet 2015 – This wine is on fire and the pricing has it selling out fast…

$56.00 at the winery - $43+ by the case at Pop's!

Brilliant blackberry liqueur, violet, black currant, lavender, bold tannin as new leather and smoke, and this powerhouse coats the palate and lasts and lasts on the finish.

A great Cab from a pedigreed producer for the price.

This wine from the Plumpjack family of wines is the creation of winemaker Jeff Owens.

The Adaptation Cabernet Sauvignon needs 2 hours of breathing to show it's tremndous potential.

A fusion of fruit flavors that include wild blackberries, mulberries, sweet cherries and cocoa dipped blueberries invade your senses followed by wispy notes of forest floor and bittersweet chocolate.

An exuberant, multi-dimensional mouthfeel is complemented by dynamic acidity that forges freshness, energy and length to the palate.

78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot.

Fantastic Napa cab for $43+!!!

Extremely Limited!!! Get it before the next vintage goes up in price….
