Ted's pick... Best Italian White for Summer
"Visiting Italy in April, I found a white wine that I want to drink all Summer long.

2016 Tre Monti Trebbiano “Vigna Rio” Emilia Romagna, Italy The perfect, crisp, refreshing, dry, Organic Italian white wine to satisfy the heated afternoons.

Trebbiano used to be the go-to white wine from italy, before Pinot Grigio steamrolled it. Wines like this will help us bring it back. You can drink bottles of this and zero headaches, hangovers… It’s that great! And a value at $13+

To my surprise, Vinous has a stellar rating on it too…

90 Points, Vinous Media
“Straw yellow. Clean fresh pomaceous orchard fruit on the nose and in the mouth. Clean fresh and long with good lemony cut and noteworthy freshness on the long back end. Not the last word in complexity but always a lovely wine.”
Ian D'Agata

It’s definitely the subtle lemony flavor, fresh acidity and wonderful refreshment that wins me over.

Pop’s is the only store in the USA with this delicious dry white perfect for Summer-time drinking. Stock up!!! It’s gonna be in the 90’s the next few days!!! In-Stock!

Ted's pick... 2016 Colosi - A Solid go-to Red Value from Sicily is too drinkable!
"There are some Italian red wines that offer fantastic value for the money, wines that drink incredibly well and cost less than $12.

This is one of those wines!

The 2016 Colosi Rosso Terre Siciliane is a delicious blend of mostly Nero d'Avola and Nerello Mascalese. Dark colored in the glass with wonderful, deep aromas of dark fruits that really draws you in. In the mouth, the wine is full bodied and velvety in texture, with a long finish.

Great with meals, or for casual sipping. Served slightly chilled, it could work as a pairing partner to grilled tuna steaks.

Beach priced!!!

Ted's pick... 2015 Hardin Napa Valley Cabernet drinks $50+....
....very happily less than $25!

2015 Hardin Cab – Woah! This is HOW MUCH?!!!

$50+ Quality NAPA Cabernet for a Song!

Hardin Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful expression of Napa Valley at a very affordable price. The 2015 Hardin Cabernet Sauvignon is a combination of top Valley floor and hillside sites. It’s a blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc aged in French oak (20% new) for about 14 months.

The 2015 Hardin is a Classic Napa Cabernet that reflects the quality of the 2015 vintage with deep, rich flavors and volume. Lots of dusty cassis, stone fruit and a sage/herb spice with beautiful layers and an underlying lift of freshness that carries the finish. The wine has a great texture with sturdy, but soft, tannins.

The first vintage of Hardin Cabernet Sauvignon (2003) was discovered by one of our favorite suppliers, Doug Polaner, on a trip to California, sourced from one of Napa Valley's long time "cult" producers. Doug found himself in Napa at the right time and was able to taste and buy a small lot of this top, top quality wine. Following the blow-out success of the first effort, Doug has continued to put together a stellar follow-up throughout the years. The 2015 is Hardin's ninth vintage and one of outstanding quality. Only 1787 cases were produced.

A wine that will certainly compete with many Cabernets at much higher prices!

Enjoy Hardin Cabernet Sauvignon with filet mignon, rack of lamb, steak, grilled vegetables and aged cheeses.

Ted's pick... A beautifully Aged 2005 Chateau Simard St. Emilion for $26+
"The 2005 Chateau Simard, St. Emilion has arrived! At 13 years old and from a GREAT vintage, it is the Best Simard I’ve tasted to date.

Château Simard produces only one wine. It is classically elegant, with a refined style that results not only from the excellent vineyard location, Saint Emilion, but also from traditional winemaking methods employed at the château.

Winemaking at Château Simard includes fermentation in concrete vats and an extended maceration period. During aging, the wine is racked using traditional methods. It is bottled and aged in the cellar, allowing the fragrance and flavors to develop complexity, nuance and finesse.

The 2005 has a brilliant ruby color with some brick notes. The nose has hints of berries, violets and earth. In the mouth, flavors of cassis, black cherry and plum expand within a good, round structure; medium length and plenty of aging potential.

A lot of times I feel the wine is held too long before release, but this 2005 is a ROCKSTAR… The wine is still dense and rich showcasing how great 2005 was.

This wine can be enjoyed with red meats, stews and grillade.

92 Points - Wine & Spirits
"Claude Mazière, who took over his family’s vineyard in 1954, took a different approach to the market than many of his neighbors on the hillside outside the walls of St-Emilion. He made his wine a restaurant staple here in the US by releasing it with ten years of age. When he passed away in 2008, his nephew, Alain Vauthier, of Château Ausone, purchased the property, with plans to eventually sell the wines somewhat earlier, with five years of age. Meanwhile, this 2005 is the current release, matured to silken elegance, still holding some fresh floral notes while the spicy, gamey flavors last, integrated and lovely. Enjoy it with roast squab."

2015 Red Bordeaux’s are arriving… Not all the heavy-hitters are sold out…YET!
"2015’s are showing up, and stacking up in the cool Pop’s Warehouse for Fall shipping weather. Great prices and not everything is sold out yet. 2015 Chateau Lynch Bages, Pauillac still has great availability.

96 points Vinous
“One of the finest Pauillacs of 2015, Lynch-Bages is rich, racy and voluptuous. A rush of dark red and purplish stone fruit, mint, new leather, spice and blood orange give the 2015 a very decidedly exotic character that is impossible to miss. Raspberry jam, mocha, new leather and expressive floral notes appear with time in the glass, rounding things out nicely. Even though the 2015 is quite forward and open at this stage, the wine has plenty of stuffing as well as the underlying structure to support many years of exceptional drinking. This is a stellar showing for Lynch-Bages.” (AG) (2/2018)

96 points, Wine Enthusiast
“This vintage was ideal for the rich style that this estate has made its own. This wine is full bodied and ripe with black-currant and dark berry fruits. The tannins fall into the cushioned wine with ease and richness. Of course, the wine should be aged, so wait until 2026.” *Cellar Selection* (RV) (12/2017)
