Great wine doesn't have to cost a lot!

Ted's pick... One of the best deals in Every-day Spanish red wine you’re likely to find.
"A solid table wine that can be paired with many types of foods.

2015 Protocolo Red Wine from the Eguren family in Spain.

This family produces some of the most highly sought after reds from Rioja but their money-maker is producing outstanding red, White and Rose table wines. Imported to the USA under the Protocolo label these wines are not to be missed.

Like so many of my favorite reds, this one sports a dark cherry fruit redolence, a little earth, a bit of oak. With it’s mild-medium finish and pleasant amount of dryness, it isn’t trying to be anything other than what it is, which is key.

This wine is very easy to drink!

And a steal for $6!!!!!!!!

Ted's pick... Explosive Pinot Grigio from Northern Italy!!!
"2017 Fiegl is the best in the store!

There are a lot of Pinot Grigio’s here at Pop’s. Pop’s Selection is the greatest in the area! Over 80 Pinot Grigio’s to choose from. Everybody has their favorite and Pop’s likes to carry EVERYONE’S FAVORITE WINES!

My favorite Pinot Grigio – the 2017 Fiegl from Northern Italy.

Way North… as in Collio, right next to the Slovenian border.
In World War 2 they were heavily bombed and the area was decimated. Visiting the vineyards now, you can literally kick the soil and bullet fragments and bomb fragments emerge from the soil… (I brought home proof, somehow the dogs didn’t sit next to me at the airport.)

Crazy!

I’ve long been a fan of Fiegl Pinot Grigio but this 2017 is Unbelievable! Dry, Minerally, Great Precision and DANGEROUSLY Gulp-able…

This 2017 Fiegl Pinot Grigio drinks like it should be over $20….

SOMEHOW it’s $14+…

Fantastic Value!!!

Don’t worry, you won’t get any bomb fragments in the bottle, but the wine has an explosive taste that you have to check out.

Stock Up!!!

Ted's pick... Lolea Sangria's are Perfect for Summer!
"For the wine palate these are the best!

Sitting on the beach, 90 degrees, persistent heat…

Pop Open an ICE COLD “LOLEA” Red or White Sangria – Pour Over a FULL RED CUP (Glass) of ICE…

These Sangria’s RED & WHITE are Irresistible!

WHY LOLEA? Because Lolea is made with good wine and natural ingredients and is NOT Pasturised!

Lolea´s high standard of quality and tradition is not easy to find on the market. The personal project of a group of friends who want to share what they love, making only a limited production for consumption each year.

LIMITED!!! These will SELL OUT….

Its moderate alcohol content, frizzante style and refreshing fruit flavor makes Lolea the perfect cocktail for aperitifs, with lunch, in the afternoon and of course for social evenings. Lolea is shared with friends, with family and always brings joy and celebration!

LOLEA White Sangria....
....smells like Coconuts, White Flowers, refreshingly Sweet and VERY hard to stop drinking…

An artisanal sangria made with high quality Airen and Moscatel white wine, fresh orange and lemon juice, and a touch of vanilla. Not pasteurised in order to conserve all the characteristics of the wine, and to give it a fizzy touch which makes for a refreshing and enjoyable drink.

Very balanced and elegant, more sophisticated and chic than its red wine twin but equally fine with a persistent flavor and fragrance, hints of jasmine, apricot and loquat, and a great balance between acidity and sweetness.

Serve ICE COLD accompanied by citrus fruits, pineapple or strawberries. Add mint for a delightfully surprising taste.

Ted's pick... 2017 Purple Rose Rosato from Castello di Ama is captivating, thirst quenching Italian Rose!
"First and foremost - this Rose from Tuscany is Great!

A captivating blend of mostly Sangiovese and Merlot made using the saignee method from plots destined for the Chianti Classico Red wines. More like a young red wine with intense crisp character.

Second, the packaging is amazing.

Clear bottle, great label of a guy on a horse with red circles of differing sizes.

Named "Purple Rose" with a slight nod to Prince, the artist that brought us Purple Rain.

2017 Purple Rose, Rosato, Castello di Ama, Tuscany, Italy

Gorgeous Tuscan Rose!

All new production this year, the Castello di Ama Rose is much improved from the past.

Castello di Ama sits 12 miles northeast of Siena in the hills of Gaiole. This is the heart of Chianti Classico, a bucolic rolling landscape of woods, vineyards and olive groves. The property is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Marco Pallanti and Lorenza Sebasti. Over the last quarter century they have replanted all of the vineyards and upgraded all of the winemaking capabilities to make this one of Tuscany’s showcase producers.

Excellent, Fruit-rich Rose with fresh red berries, wild strawberry and cherry.

A juicy thirst quenching wine.

Ted's pick... Nothing like a Really Well Crafted Riesling from the Mosel
"2016 Schloss Lieser Estate Bottled is Fantastic!

I love a well made DRY Riesling, preferably from the Mosel.

In the past, I enjoyed all the intensely sugary kinds but found they gave me headaches.

I love the laser beams of acidity along with the unmistakable and delightfully haunting aromatics of Blue Slate!

This is my kind of Riesling…

2016 Schloss Lieser Riesling, Estate Bottled, Mosel, Germany

Thomas Haag, the winemaker at Schloss Lieser since ’92 and its owner since ’97, is also the brother of Oliver Haag and son of legendary Wilhelm Haag at the Fritz Haag estate, one of the most illustrious names in German winemaking.

Thomas has a quiet intensity about him, much like his wines. He doesn’t bow to any popular wine making style; he makes wines his way and in a unique, terroir-driven style. That’s the Blue Slate that’s mesmerizing.

This wine is blend of the Graacher Himmelreich, Niederberg Helden and Lieser Schlossberg sites. All great old vineyards which are sourced for this blend entitled “SL”.

This Estate Riesling is a testament to the fine wines that come out across the board at the estate and should make your list for everyday Riesling.

90 points, Wine Enthusiast
“Pronounced aromas of smoke and crushed earth dissipate with aeration revealing crisp yellow peach and tangerine. While dry in style, this offers plush sunny stone-fruit flavors balanced by brisk acidity and a tart bite of green apple on the finish.”

Grab this Riesling for Fruit Salad, Summer Sipping, Thai or Asian food pairing.

Outstanding German Dry Riesling for $20!!!

Alcohol on this bad boy is 10.5% for my Riesling aficionado’s!

Wow!

Get this before we run out…
