".....This
wine is unusually complex and concentrated....."
"This has always been one of my favorite recommendations for
Zin. Now due to a large purchase we’ve been able to drop the price even
further. At $8+ a bottle when bought by the case this wine blows the doors
off of all of those national brands in both quality and value.
This wine is unusually complex and concentrated for a Zinfandel in this
price category with flavors of dark berries and a hint of spice are balanced
by mild acidity."

".....Enticing
aroma, beautiful fruit....."
$5+ too!!
"White wine, winter, why? Enticing aroma, beautiful fruit on the
palate, just over $5 price, why not! Yes, go back and read “$5 plus price”.
Every once in a while we get an opportunity to purchase wines at ridiculous
prices, and of course, we then sell them at equally ridiculous
prices…ridiculously low that is. But we don’t buy them blind….we all taste,
compare notes, and then decide if we want to recommend them. This Soave is a
pleasing, versatile white that will pair easily with Italian, Asian, or
other light fare. It’s also an elegant before dinner or stand- alone wine.
Though in winter weather we all like to hunker down with heavier foods and
hearty red wines, there’s always a place for a delightful white wine. Hey,
January is almost over and warm weather is on the horizon. Grab this bargain
while you can and enjoy these wines all summer. But you can drink them now
and stay warm thinking of that hammock, glass in hand…well, you get the
picture."

“In a darker, balsamic vein, this red evokes tar, black cherry,
underbrush and tobacco flavors. They're all held together by the dense, fine
tannins. Oak spice emerges on the taut finish. Best from 2014 through 2025.”

“One might assume that a Chardonnay from a mountain appellation would be
powerful since Cabernet Sauvignons made from mountain-grown grapes are big
and muscular. Thankfully, this one, from the Hess Collection, is not.
Tightly wound at this stage, it conveys a fabulous stony undertone. As it
unfolds in the glass, a creamy minerality and citrus-tinged finish emerges.
Long and precise, it’s the antithesis over the overblown over-oaked
California Chardonnay.” $35)

“The 2008 Clos de Los Siete is a blend of 56% Malbec, 21% Merlot,
with the balance Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 11 months in
one-third new French, one-third second use barrels, and one-third in vat. It
offers up an expressive nose of cedar, spice box, brier, floral notes, and
assorted black fruits. Round, ripe, and surprisingly complex for a wine of
its humble price, it is an outstanding value meant for drinking over the
next 5-6 years. Clos de Los Siete is the project of Michel Rolland and
his associates."

".....My
unbelievable value find ...."
"Great News - 2010 Rhone Reds have turned out as great as
2009!! As inky and rich and Juicy as ever... there will be a plethora of
fine wines from the Rhone Valley vintage 2010!! We've been blessed with two
Great Vintages in a row - 2009 & 2010!
With the DOLLAR and EURO at Odds, Values are tougher and tougher to find. My
unbelievable value find is the 2010 Ventoux, Les Gelinottes from Alain Jaume.
Ventoux is located just outside the Rhone Valley and when they have a great
vintage, these wines represent some of the best values in all of the Rhone
Valley. There will be a lot of great 2010 Cotes-du-Rhone's, and
Cotes-du-Rhone Villages but for $10+ (by the case) this Ventoux is an
Unbelievable Value. Super Dark Red, almost Purple, Oozes intense dark
blueberries mixed with Vanilla and smokey notes from a brief stint with Oak
barrels, a smooth rich texture and wonderful dry finish makes this wine a
GO-TO for value minded consumers... This Ventoux wine easily drinks $15-20.
This is a definite Case Buy! Super to drink now and over the next 4-5
years. Be sure to stock up!
