".....what we have located may become known as the
best up-to-the-minute red ever!....."
"Perhaps a modern twist added to your traditional glass of
classico? Through the undersized year of 2010, Pop’s Wines and Spirits
continue to further their Olympic domination of wine, while now, challenging
our suppliers to showcase us the best of what they cover…
Give me a reduction!
Better yet, taste us on wine that resonates $30 dollars or more, but only
cost the consumer a mere $16+, when bought by the case.
Now we may have not come to that leg yet, but what we have located may
become known as the best up-to-the-minute red ever! Cause when you glance
around in the world of wine, the times they are for sure for changin;
Especially in Italy!
Modernization has skyrocketed'; Italian wines are becoming far more softer
and sexier; lower alcohol levels; and for the price, forget about it! The
taste -vs- price ratio for this wine makes me feel like I just landed a
triple-lutz back in time when the Lire once dominated. Especially with this
‘money jump’ of a property….
The bouquet is RICH BABY RICH, with slightly jammy fashion of red-berry
fruit that has black currant accents, and is supported by brambly overtones.
On the palate it's medium bodied and very smoooooth, with rich, dusky black
currant fruit supported by smooth sweet tannins that have a slight cedar
burr, and flow into a clean moderately long finish. It's international in
feel; if you prefer scrappy acidity, stay away. But if you prefer a sassy
‘show me the gold’ Chianti you will love it!!
After tasting, you will soon find how contemporary adjustment within a
vineyard can illuminate a wine to taste far more than what you spent on it…"

"This is a very fine wine, Merlot-based with a splash of Syrah, and it proves
you don’t have to spend a lot to get a great Napa red. It shows rich,
complex flavors of black and red currants, licorice, cola and sandalwood, in
an elegantly silky structure that’s light and refined. ($25)

"Smooth, rich and complex, showing tiers of ripe plum,
blackberry and wild berry, with notable cedary dill and vanilla-laced oak.
But this is very nicely proportioned, ending with a long, lingering finish.
Drink now through 2015." ($18)

"This firm red delivers ripe black cherry and boysenberry fruit backed by
notes of smoke, mineral and herb. The tannins are well-integrated, and
floral and smoke notes linger. Drink now through 2013."
