“Pinot Grigio at its best.....
.....  delivers a crisp, easy drinking wine that works well as a cocktail as well as having enough acidity to keep pace with some appetizers. All points covered here, with lemon, flowers, lime and a light spice touch on the nose, and crisp acidity converting those elements to flavors with a zesty feel and a long finish. Couple that with a great price and you've got a winner. A Platinum Award winner at the 2016 Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition.”

"..... is simply stunning....."
"The 2013 Demuth Chardonnay is simply stunning. It’s been quite some time I’ve tasted a Chardonnay this good. Although it’s up there in price, I compare it quite favorably to a Puligny Montrachet (one of my all time favorite whites) at half the price. This flat out delicious Chardonnay shows amazing purity of fruit, minerality and a richly textured body, balanced by gorgeous acidity. The dynamic structure and characters constantly evolve in the glass. All of Demuth’s wines are made in small batches and this hands on care most definitely shows in the wine. So you can pay $80-$100 for a Puligny or much less for Demuth, it’s up to you."

"..... A Platinum Award-winner....."
..... 95 points too!!

“My favorite Alexander Valley producer strikes again with this elegant bottling. It's quite bright, with blackberry and black cherry flooding your senses and joined by fall spice, and the slightest hint of dried herbs. Is fabulous right now, but don't let that keep you from cellaring some for ten or more years. Contains 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec. A Platinum Award-winner at the 2016 Sommelier Challenge International Wine Competition.”

"..... This gorgeous wine is beautifully....."
“Showing notes of lavender and cherry, MacMurray’s estate pinot noir is a reminder of the rich palate of flavors and elegance typical of the Russian River Valley. This gorgeous wine is beautifully balanced, spicy and exquisitely delicate. Platinum award-winner at the 2016 Sommelier Challenge International Wine Competition.”

"..... I forgot how charming and delicious this wine is....."
"Dining and drinking wine with old friends. Isn't that what it's all about?

Well Tuesday I did just that with my friends Ashley and Christian from Indie Wines. As the name of their company suggest they represent small independent growers and wineries.

Speaking of old friends, it is at this dinner I had the pleasure of getting reacquainted with Covolo Rosso. I forgot how charming and delicious this wine is. Since this wine does not see any oak the flavors are so fresh and vibrant. This blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon creates a wine that’s not to fruit forward and yet not to rustic. The perfect blend balance between Old World and New World styles."
