Clear color. Aromas and flavors of coconut shell, ripe tropical fruit, and seven-layer bar with a crisp, dryish light-to-medium body and a sleek, breezy finish with impressions of powdered sugar, lime zest, and spice cake finish. A rock solid white rum for classic cocktails.

Unlike most clear rums, DonQ uses a multiple distillation system to produce a cleaner, more refined, and more delicate flavor profile. So a DonQ drink will sip smoother than a drink made with another rum. So smooth, in fact, that you can substitute Cristal in a vodka drink, and most won t be able to tell the difference. It s then aged in American White Oak Bourbon barrels to impart a touch more smoothness. Its ability to mix with natural juices, tonic and soda waters is optimal.
Relatively neutral overall, this rum shows subtle marshmallow and charcoal character, finishing crisp and dry, alongside hits of ginger and black pepper. Kara Newman, 6/1/2016.
