Glenfiddich Description

Our 15 Year Old expression is a truly special single malt that exemplifies our family’s tradition of innovation. Its warm, spicy flavours are created using a technique pioneered by our fourth Malt Master, David Stewart, and continued to this day.

Aged in European, American, and New American oak to carefully release the virgin cask flavours, the whisky is then mellowed in our unique Solera vat before being married in Portuguese oak tuns.

Bursting with flavour, the first 15 Year Old to enter the top ten best selling single malts in the world is a personal favourite of many of us here at the Distillery, and once you’ve tried it, it’s easy to see why.

COLOR: Golden, a red hue.

NOSE: An intriguingly complex aroma. Sweet heather honey and vanilla fudge combined with rich dark fruits.

TASTE: Silky smooth, revealing layers of sherry oak, marzipan, cinnamon and ginger. Full-bodied and bursting with flavour.

FINISH: Satisfyingly rich with lingering sweetness.

TOP 100 SPIRITS 2019
Scented with honey and baked apple, this single malt is big and rich, opening with fruit and just a puff of smoke, adding a distinct mouthwatering sea salt note midpalate, then stretching on into a long, butterscotch finish. It marries whiskies matured in Sherry, Bourbon and new oak casks in a solera vat, which has been periodically topped up with new whiskey since 1998—no wonder it's so complex. Kara Newman, 12/31/2019.

Whiskey Advocate: 86 Points

I used to find this a little lacking in structure. Either I’ve changed my palate (or was always wrong), or the solera’s slow changes have added depth and complexity. The nose is all cooked plums, with some blueberry, stewing rhubarb. All is delicately scented, with some currant leaf, then sultana and sweet dried fruits. The palate is equally fruity—more hedgerow fruits now—but there’s grip and a little fresh acidity to balance. Hugely appealing and approachable. Dave Broom, Fall 2015.
