Château Talbot 1983 is a Quatrième Cru Classé of the Saint-Julien appellation. It is composed of a blend of five grape varieties typical of this AOC, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
The 1983 vintage of Talbot is dressed in a beautiful purple colour, deep and dense, with bright ruby highlights.
From the nose, Talbot 1983 is very flattering, distilling aromas of black fruits, leather, compost, and various hot spices.
Medium-bodied on the palate, Château Talbot 1983 is fleshy and exuberant. Added to its relatively low acidity are notes of overripe fruit wrapped in a hint of burnt herbs. After aeration, Talbot 1983 becomes even more complex, revealing aromas of cinnamon and candied notes.
According to the famous Robert Parker, it is undoubtedly one of the best wines of this vintage!
