The Hartford Court Russian River Valley Chardonnay offers subtle aromas of jasmine flower, citrus oil, green apple, and pear. The elegant aromatics are complemented by fresh kiwi, lemon drop, and green apple flavors. The fruit-focused mid-palate is followed by subtle mineral notes and a hint of crystallized ginger in the finish.
The 2022 vintage, one of Hartford Court's earliest harvests on record, gave them wines with precision and concentration. The Chardonnay has great elegance and bright acidity from the fruit harvested in August, with the fruit harvested in September giving more ripe fruit and richness.
In 2014 Robert Parker in the Wine Advocate commented:
“Hartford Court is run with incredible enthusiasm and competence by Don Hartford and his Winemaker Jeff Stewart. One of the bright shining stars in California winedom, their Chardonnays are purely Burgundian, with sensational purity and ripeness...” December 2014 The Wine Advocate.
Hartford Family Winery was founded in 1993 as a result of Don and Jennifer Hartford’s appreciation for the wines, the people, and the unique vineyards near their Russian River Valley home. Located in the Sonoma County town of Forestville, the winery is about 15 miles from the cool Pacific Coast.
