This Charodonnay from Macon has a lovely pale gold color with hints of silver. The Mâcon-Vinzelles wines are characterized by their generous fruitiness with aromas of yellow-fleshed fruits like pêche de vigne and apricot, with hints of acid candy. But despite this clear opulence that is inherent to the southern location of the vines from which it is made. This is still a rather dry wine typical of the Maconnaise with some fruitiness and fattiness, but this is balanced by a light acidity.
The AOC Macon Vinzelles is an additional geographical denomination that is part of the Régionale Mâcon appellation in the Mâconnais. According to the 2005 specifications rules, the name Mâcon-Vinzelles refers to white wines grown within a defined area in the village of Vinzelles.
The name "Les Cadoles" refers to the numerous small constructions that served as shelters for the wine growers throughout the Maconnaise.. Varying in sophistication, their design is quite unique. These “cadoles” are the subject of an ambitious restoration and preservation programme set up by the "Société des Amis des Sciences et des Arts de Tournus" (Friends of the Sciences and Arts of Tournus).
