Black fruits on the nose here. On the palate there's heady, rich, sumptuous fruit, almost confected but it retains enough acidity and brightness to carry it off. It's definitely more of a rich style - a food wine for sure with lashings of oak adding to the complexity. There's a touch of spice on the finish but with time this will integrate and soften. Good to drink now or wait several more years. Drinking Window 2020 - 2030. Georgina Hindle, Part of Discovering Cahors: 40 wines tasted and rated.
From the estate's oldest vineyards, planted in the 1960s, this wine is dense and structured. Tannins play across the surface, bringing aging potential. The wine is also ripe with berry flavors. Bring the elements together and the wine will be ready from 2023. Roger Voss, 8/1/2020.
