Le Orme is an expression of all four Michele Chiarlo Barbera estates in the Nizza area,
Michele Chiarlo captures the essence of Piedmont, one of the most incredible wine regions in Italy and in the world. Le Orme is a classic Barbera d’Asti wine. It is the flagship wine of Michele Chiarlo, and its name translates as “the footsteps” or “legacy”.
This is a perfect example of a quality Barbera D’Asti, ruby in color, low tannin, high acidity, fruit-forward and medium-bodied.
Michele Chiarlo sources grapes from strictly selected Barbera vineyards with excellent exposure to produce a superb, balanced wine. The choice vineyards are in the southern area of Asti province, especially the hills around Nizza Monferrato. Temperature controlled maceration and fermentation on the skins yields the dark, rich color that is typical of great Barberas. The wine is aged in large French oak casks before release.
