Blackberries and plums with some spices and dark-chocolate and earthy notes. It’s full-bodied with a suave texture, elegant tannins and freshness. The finish is long and flavorful, going on and on. Try after 2023.
Solidly built, featuring a core of plum and blackberry notes, threaded with mesquite, mineral and savory hints. The finish shows a twinge of the rustic tannins that mark many 2017s, but ample fruit keeps them well-absorbed. Best from 2021 through 2029. 4,621 cases made. James Molesworth, 10/31/2020.

This is a well-made, nicely priced wine that overdelivers on its price point, providing earthy truffle, pencil shavings and cedar characteristics.
