Frappato is a one of the native Sicilian grape varieties that are rarely found outside Italy. The grape might actually be genetically related to Italy's top red wine Sangiovese. Wines made from the Frappato grape are slightly reminiscent of a good Beaujolais. They are typically light bodied, very dry and are bit fruity balanced by good acidity. This wine burst with aromas of sweet red berries, prunes, incense spice and floral hints of violet. The wine has flavors of strawberry jam, Marasca cherry, a hint of plums and clove alongside notes of pepper, a fresh acidity that give the wine balance and round tannins on the finish.
