Château Magnol's history goes back to 1842 when Monsieur Delisse, an experienced agronomist, consolidated the vineyards surrounding the former Château du Dehez. In 1969 the vineyards were purchased by Barton & Guestier who undertook major investments in the vineyards and cellars. The efforts were crowned with success in 1979 when the wine was classified "Cru Bourgeois".
I like the chocolate and blackberry character to this with some wet earth. The palate is medium-to full-bodied with firm tannins and a linear finish. Better than the 2018.

Cellar Selection
This ripe wine from an estate close to Bordeaux city is dense and structured. Showing firm tannins and lush black-currant fruits that are well to the fore, this is a wine for aging. Drink from 2025. Roger Voss, 5/1/2022.
